Here are some questions we would want you to ponder before considering an Australian Shepherd.
Are you looking for a service dog? Some our puppies have been successfully trained to be great service dogs!
Aussies are very high-energy dogs. They need room and/or activities to get some energy out. We do not suggest that someone who lives in a small apartment get one of our pups. Do you have room for the pup to get daily exercise?
Are you familiar with the Australian Shepherd breed? Have you had previous or other current dogs?
Do you have children or know of someone who does that you can surround your puppy with? It’s a good idea to because aussies can become aggressive or timid when around something they aren’t familiar with. Think of other things or noises to get your pup accustomed to as well.(Bicycles, Cats, Noisy/Loud things)
Are you looking at getting a dog as a 10-15 year commitment? We want our pups to go to permanent homes. Things in life do happen where we can’t keep our dogs sometimes, so in those cases we ask that you find another great home for the dog or you can contact us and we’ll try to find a home. We do not ever want our puppies ending up in a shelter.
We do not adopt puppies with breeding rights. New owners need to get their dog spayed/neutered when recommended by a vet.
